Welcome
Tim Forbes
Head of School
Prior to coming to Saint Michael Academy, Mr. Forbes served as Executive Director of the Judge Dinkins Educational Center, a Nashville-based nonprofit that equips justice-involved adolescents with construction training, academic credentials, and financial literacy to expand employment opportunities and reduce recidivism. For eight years, Tim also served as Principal of St. Mathew Catholic School in Franklin, where he successfully expanded the academic program, increased enrollment, and strengthened the Annual Fund. Before his leadership at St. Mathew, Tim served as the Dean of Campus Ministry and Student Life at Father Ryan High School. In that role, he developed and implemented service-learning initiatives for more than 800 students, coordinating outreach to organizations supporting the homeless, refugees, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Tim also created and gained national recognition for the largest and most successful youth-led Relay for Life event in the country.
Welcome to St. Michael Academy
It is a privilege to welcome you to our school community. Whether you are a current family considering St. Michael Academy for your child, or simply learning more about our mission, I am grateful you have taken the time to visit us.
At St. Michael Academy, we believe that education is about much more than academic achievement. It is about the formation of our young people and our community. Our mission is to help young people become saints and scholars for the greater glory of God. Everything we do is viewed through the lens of our mission.
Daily prayer, weekly celebration of the liturgy, and the teachings of the Church are woven throughout the school day. We want every student to know that they are created and beautifully made in the image and likeness of God, deeply loved by Christ, and called to use their unique gifts in service to others.
Academically, we believe in the potential of every child. The St. Michael Academy faculty challenge students to develop critical thinking skills and communicate clearly. This is reinforced by the school’s device free policy. Students are required to articulate their thoughts, questions, and responses without the assistance of artificial intelligence or the internet.
Just as importantly, we recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children. The partnership between home and school is essential to a child's formation. Together, we can create a community where students flourish academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
As Head of School, my commitment is to ensure that St. Michael Academy remains a school that is unmistakably Catholic, academically rigorous, and deeply committed to the success of every student. The school is relatively young. I am excited about building traditions and creating a truly Catholic culture!
I invite you to visit our campus, meet our exceptional teachers and students, and experience firsthand what makes St. Michael Academy such a special place. I believe you will find a community where faith is lived, excellence is expected, and every child is known and loved.
Thank you for considering St. Michael Academy. We look forward to welcoming your family into our community.
May God bless you and your family.
Yours in Christ,
Tim Forbes
