The St. Michael Academy Fund

TAKE UP THE SHIELD. MAKE AN IMPACT.

St. Michael Academy exists because families believed in Catholic education in Nolensville before there was a school to send their children to. The St. Michael Academy Fund carries that faith forward.

The St. Michael Academy Fund covers the gap between tuition and operating expenses -- about 7% of our budget. Gifts to the fund offer us the capacity to say yes to what a growing school needs.

Every gift is put to work the year it is given. It funds classroom resources, the teachers our students deserve, and a Christ-centered campus serving families from five regional parishes.

Our goal is 100% family participation. Participation matters because it signals to prospective families, to teachers we hope to hire, and to foundations considering grants that this community stands behind its school. Every donor will be recognized in our annual philanthropy magazine, mailed each summer.

Every gift makes a difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I already pay tuition — doesn't that cover everything?
A: In our efforts to maintain a tuition rate that keeps Catholic education accessible for students in our region, tuition covers most – but not all – operating expenses. To continue offering an excellent education, The St. Michael Academy Fund helps us close the gap and meet our students’ needs.

Q: Who am I giving this to?
A: Your gift supports students, teachers, and staff members. It also goes toward maintaining our beautiful campus in Nolensville, Tenn.

Q: What is funded in the 7% gap you mention?
A: Closing this gap allows us to operate our 102,000 sq. ft. facility, provide competitive salaries, all-inclusive tuition (including on-site lunch, textbooks, and more), and respond more quickly to the needs of a growing school.

Q: Why does participation matter as much as the dollar amount?
A: Because when nearly every St. Michael Academy family gives, it shows our parish communities, surrounding cities, and future families that this school has the full support of the people who know it best. High participation also strengthens our credibility when we are ready to begin a capital campaign for future growth.

Q: How much should I give?
A: Every gift counts, and every level of giving matters. We ask each family to prayerfully consider a gift that is meaningful to them. Our Giving Circles offer a guide — and our hope is that every family finds a circle that reflects their capacity to give.

Q: Why not simply increase tuition to cover expenses?
St. Michael Academy aims to keep tuition as accessible as possible so that every child can experience the love, support, and academic excellence of a Catholic school. Our mission is to form children into saints and scholars, and The St. Michael Academy Fund helps make this possible.

Q: When should I make my gift?
A: We ask that families make their gift or pledge during this launch. Early commitments allow us to plan confidently for the year ahead.

Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?
A: Yes. St. Michael Academy is a 501(c)(3) and gifts to The St. Michael Academy Fund are tax-deductible. Please check whether your employer offers a matching gift program — it may double or triple your impact.
