SMA school day hours for the 2025-2026 school year are 8:00am to 3:30pm.
Preschool students without an older sibling in K-6th are released at 2:45pm daily. Preschool students with an older sibling in K-6th can dismiss together at 3:30pm.
Dropoff begins at 7:30am (no beforecare option) and pickup ends at 3:50pm. Aftercare is offered until 6:00pm for an additional cost.

The uniform provider for SMA is Flynn O’Hara uniforms. Uniforms can be browsed by grade level and gender on their website, our school code is TN010. Please refer to the family handbook for exact uniform requirements.

The FACTS parent portal provides easy, direct access to items such as homework, grades, teacher newsletters, volunteer opportunities, behavior and attendance records, lunch menus, and calendars. FACTS access is limited to enrolled families only. Our school code is: STMA-TN.

SMA utilizes City Kitchen for all lunch items. Lunch is included 5 days per week for every student. Students may choose to bring their own lunch, but opting out of lunch via tuition is not an option. City Kitchen prides itself on providing healthy, freshly-prepared foods to nourish students bodies and minds. Juice, desserts, and other sugar-based items are not available on a regular basis.

Aftercare is offered 5 days per week for all students. Aftercare is an additional $3000 per year.

St. Michael Academy participates in the Diocesan Athletic Conference, alongside many other Catholic schools in the Diocese of Nashville. The Defender Athletic Program offers 5 sports and emphasizes good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun.

SMA is a strictly pen-to-paper environment, and there are no laptops, Chromebooks, or iPads used in our classrooms outside of dedicated STEM classes. No student cellphones are allowed on campus.

SMA welcomes parent involvement and there are numerous opportunities to volunteer on campus! All volunteer opportunites are listed in the FACTS parent portal under “Volunteer”. Our parent-run Home and School Association coordinates parent support of the students, teachers, and staff. Current HSA news and information can be found in the FACTS parent portal under “HSA”.

Student safety and security are the highest priorities at SMA. We have multi-layered security protocols, including armed security, paired with state-of-the-art technology and facilities.

SMA abides by the Diocesan Safe Environment policy of the Diocese of Nashville. All adults working, volunteering, or interacting with children in the school or attending field trips must be Safe Environment cleared and submit a background check through St. Michael Academy.
